Abolish these trends now !!

Its very risking when being a social/ fashion commentator to stand forward and predict what you believe to be a trend that is dead or overdone. I’m not afraid to do so. The following trends should be abolished, stopped, eliminated, eradicated and brought to an end. Working in fashion retail these trends cross my path everyday. And please don’t get me wrong I am a victim to my trade and completely dedicated to the hottest and straight of the runway looks to make you drool. The follow however are NOT

1- Chipped Nail Polish. Black Particularly!! –I understand that when you live a busy lifestyle (or a student one) having the time to get a manicure or even a DIY at home is all about finding the time. HOWEVER. Wearing chipped and flawed BLACK nail polish does not portray an ‘I don’t care what I look like trend’ it just plainly looks like you have been digging in dirt. Full stop

2- Wearing the same as four other friends at the same time- Jinx much!

3 -Dressing it down all the time – Looking like you have stepped off the set of a re-make of Gilligan’s Island is not a trend, its just down right lazy.

NOW do not mistake dressing it down with the hottest trend right now the 1990’s Garage Days, girl next door look.

4- Wearing Thongs with Labels – I don’t care if the only thing you can wear on your feet is your $2 or $20 Havianna thongs, if you put on a designer label i.e. Zimmerman’s new floral collection autumn/ Winter 10 you owe that dress more than a two bit piece of rubber. Full stop

5 - Fake Tan – orange, smelly, cover-up and essentially fake. Enough said!

If you don’t agree with me then clearly you indulge in one of these five because they ultimately come in a one package 99% of the time.

  2. Wise words, Gem. I've never understood why someone would wear designer and then think "Hey, thongs would go GREAT with this!"
